Why homeowners call us

Four things most GTA insulation companies won't put in writing

Published prices and an instant estimate

Most insulation companies make you book a visit to learn the price. Our rates are on the pricing page: $1.20–$1.75 per sq ft, removal +$1–$2 per sq ft, and an instant estimate for your attic.

A written ventilation guarantee

Skipped baffles are the most common complaint in GTA insulation reviews. We count the baffles, price them as their own line and photograph every one before insulation covers the eaves. How baffles work.

A mold-aware inspection

Our owner works in mold remediation, so we spot staining, frost and wet sheathing that others miss. If we find mold, our partner Promold handles it before we insulate. Mold in the attic.

Saturdays, fast call-backs, no deposit

Inspections on weekday evenings and Saturdays. We aim to reply within 15 minutes during business hours, and you pay only when the job is done.

Why it matters

Why your attic needs proper insulation and ventilation

An attic works as a system. Insulation keeps heat in your living space. Ventilation keeps the attic itself cold and dry. When one is missing, the other stops working.

Why proper insulation matters

  • Lower heating and cooling bills. Heat rises, and an under-insulated attic is where most of it escapes. Going from R-12 to R-50 cuts heat loss through the ceiling by about three quarters.
  • Even temperatures upstairs. No more cold bedrooms in January or hot ones in July.
  • Fewer ice dams. Heat leaking into the attic melts roof snow, which refreezes at the eaves and backs up under shingles.
  • Summer comfort. A well-insulated attic floor stops a 50 °C attic from radiating heat into the rooms below.

Why ventilation matters

  • Moisture has to leave. Everyday living puts moisture into the air. Whatever reaches the attic condenses on the cold roof deck unless outside air carries it away.
  • Prevents attic mold and rot. Trapped moisture is what turns roof sheathing black and rusts nails. This is the problem our owner sees every week in mold remediation.
  • Protects your roof. A cold, dry roof deck keeps shingles and sheathing lasting longer and helps stop ice dams.
  • Keeps the insulation working. Damp insulation loses much of its R-value.

Seal leaks, keep soffits open with baffles, then insulate to a measured depth.
Where most installs go wrong. Blowing new insulation over the soffit vents blocks the airflow the roof needs, so moisture gets trapped against the roof deck. A few winters later there's frost, mold or ice dams. That's why we work in this order on every job: seal air leaks → install baffles at the eaves → blow insulation to R-50, and photograph each step. FAQ

Attic insulation questions, answered

How much does attic insulation cost in Toronto?

Blown-in attic insulation in the GTA typically costs $1.20 to $1.75 per square foot installed. Your total depends on attic size, the depth you need, access, and whether old insulation has to come out first (removal adds $1 to $2 per sq ft). Use our instant estimate or book a free inspection for a firm, line-by-line written quote.

What R-value should my attic be in Ontario?

R-50 is the common retrofit target for Ontario attics. With blown cellulose that is about 14 inches of settled depth. Many older GTA homes have only R-12 to R-20 (roughly 3 to 6 inches).

Why is attic ventilation important?

Ventilation lets outside air flow in at the soffits and out at the roof vents, carrying away moisture that leaks up from the house. Without it, moisture condenses on the cold roof deck, which leads to mold, rotting sheathing, rusty nails and ice dams. Proper insulation keeps heat in the house; ventilation keeps the attic cold and dry. You need both.

Why do I need proper attic insulation?

An under-insulated attic lets heat escape all winter and lets attic heat into the house all summer, so you pay more to heat and cool and upstairs rooms stay uncomfortable. Topping up to R-50 cuts ceiling heat loss sharply, evens out temperatures and helps prevent ice dams.

How long does an attic insulation top-up take?

Most top-ups are finished in one day, including baffles, air sealing and cleanup. You can stay home during the work.

Do you do mold removal?

No. We do not perform mold remediation. If our inspection finds mold or moisture damage, we show you the photos and, with your permission, connect you with our remediation partner Promold before any insulation goes in. One call still covers both problems.

Do you work Saturdays?

Yes. We book free attic inspections on weekday evenings and Saturdays, and Saturday installs are available.

Do I pay a deposit?

No. You pay on completion, after you have seen the after photos with the depth ruler in frame.
